Tigers Athletic Director, John Triveri has announced the Tigers 2017 football schedule. The Tigers will play 5 home games and 5 away games in 2017 and will see some changes to the schedule as far as when teams are played.
Toronto will invade Fleming Field to kick off the 2017 season. The Red Knights have proven to be a tough, well-coached opponent for the TIgers in years past. Coach Mark Holenka’s troops will try to use the home field as an advantage in their favor this year.
After week 1, the Tigers will take a three week long road trip to Monroe Central, Magnolia and Meadowbrook respectively before heading back to the friendly confines of Fleming Field in weeks five and six to face Caldwell and the River Pilots. Last year, the Pilots had their way with the Tigers in Hannibal as the two schools renewed a rivalry that had taken the previous eleven years off. River ran off to a 39-7 win in the first game of the Ohio River rivalry.
Weeks 7 & 8 see the Tigers on the road again as they visit Wheeling Central & invade Big Reds country in Bellaire in week 8. Once again a great rivalry renewed in 2013 after nearly seventy years of not playing each other. The Tigers are 4-0 since re-establishing the game in 2013.
To close out the regular season, the Tigers come back home with games against Bridgeport and Linsly in weeks 9 & 10 respectively.
All games this year will start at 7:00pm except for Bellaire, which is a 12:30pm start at Nelson Field.
